The AEOLUS project was presented at the European Researchers’ Night, an annual event dedicated to bringing research and innovation closer to the public.
During the event, held on 26 September, representatives from the Cyprus Research & Innovation Centre (CyRIC) engaged with members of the public and fellow researchers, showcasing how AEOLUS is contributing to advancements in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and smart city technologies.
Funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) under the PhD in Industry programme, AEOLUS focuses on AI‑driven, low‑power object detection for unmanned aerial surveillance. The project explores lightweight, efficient, and edge‑capable AI solutions aimed at supporting safer, smarter, and more sustainable urban environments.
Participation in events such as European Researchers’ Night highlights the societal relevance of research activities and reinforces the importance of continued exploration into how emerging AI technologies can support the cities of the future.
